Specifications of Honor x7

To frame the Honor X7, it is important to understand what type of smartphone it is. It is a mid-low class device with interesting technical specifications with a typical design that the company has now accustomed its users to. And no, considering the price, it’s definitely not one of those products for geeks or those who want maximum performance, but that’s okay, it’s a good product for those who need a phone with a large display, excellent autonomy and reliability. Basically, compared to many other Chinese designs, it’s an interesting device if you compare it to the official price of 200 euros, although with the coupon you can find below, the price drops to 189 euros. Which makes it even more interesting.

Inexpensive Has A Great Battery And Has A Lot Of Substance

We can start the investigation of the smartphone only by focusing on the aesthetic sector. Big, it’s big, and it also slides, but it’s built carefully and the materials used convinced me. The colours available are striking, and in these days of testing, several people I showed it to appreciated the Titanium Silver shade. Nice and with rare plays of light, it is satin to the touch and “muted” to the eye. The back cover, like the body, is of course plastic, but it is excellently made.

Dimensions

Its dimensions are 167.6 x 77.2 x 8.6 mm. Double microphone, speaker grille on the bottom, USB Type C and, last but not least, a 3.5mm audio jack. Rich equipment. The weight is 198 grams and, unlike other models, it is felt. Pretty bad. Since it is very rounded, it is in danger of slipping every three times.

Display

For its price range, the honor x7 has an interesting screen: it’s a 6.74-inch IPS LCD unit with 16 million colours, a 20:9 ratio, 84% screen-to-body and 1600 × 720 pixel resolution (HD+). This may be a painful thing. FullHD would be welcome. The PPI is 260 and the refresh rate is 90 Hz.

How does it fare in daily use? Let’s think about the target group of this device: the user who has to use it by default, definitely not a gamer or a social addict or even a photographer. The videos look good but don’t expect too much. Perhaps the viewing angles, especially in the sun, are slightly annoying and a little hindered. I saw pixels and polygons of 3D objects while playing, but the hardware under the body also comes into play here.

In the middle of the panel, there is a notch (too old) that houses the selfie cam and the sensor for 2D unlocking: I would have liked a small hole like the big brother Honor X8 (review here), but so be it.

Battery

Let’s get to the point: how long does the battery last? A lot, so you won’t have to worry about autonomy. Fortunately, the Honor X7 is well-made. The battery is 5000 mAh with 22.5W cable fast charging. It will easily last for two days, so you won’t have to carry a power bank or charger.
